This traditionally homemade hand cut sicilian Red Orange Marmalade is made from locally grown freshly picked non treated fruit using the entire orange, slowly reduced with only sugar added in a large copper marmalade pan, stirring occasionally.
The dark red colour of red sicilian Tarocco Oranges is due to low temperatures at night from january to mid-march, before the cold the oranges are blond. The later we harvest, the darker the colour of the marmalade which can vary from light orange to dark orange. The time of production is limited to about 3 months
On toast or bread, for breakfast, added to yoghurt and muesli. For sweets, cakes and puddings. Delicious with mild cheese and fresh ricotta.
